about 3 weeks ago i got my hens(6 ladiess 3 months old) and 2 weeks ago we got my roo.(8 weeks old) the hens are picking on him and always attack him and the hens dont really like me haha ( though they sometimes let me pet them and they do lay eggs everyday) and the roo and i have bonded alot and everytime i go up to the coop he'll come running and he will lay in my lap and sometimes go to sleeps:3 well any way is there anyway i can stop them from attacking him? i know it cant be over space obviously because everyday we let them out of their coop and let them run around our yard with our supervision of course and when its time to go inside they all safely go back in their coop and my parents are saying they attack even worse everytime i hold him or hes around me but i cant just ignore i like to be with my roo every sencond i can. what do i do?

Perhaps this will fix itself with age, since your roo is about a month younger. Eventually his testosterone will kick in (maybe around 4 months old) and he will likely kick the hens butts. Perhaps it is better that you get along with him, because that tends to be the bigger problem with chicken owners :)

Does you rooster crow yet? if not, that's a good indication he's not that mature yet. Anyways, give it some time, he will grow bigger and perhaps a little 'meaner'...

I might have commented on a different thing so ill repeat what I said : thanks and I'm glad it won't be a problem forever and he doesn't crow yet but he does peep a lot
