I haven't thought of names yet. But I now am a mommy of three feathered or soon to be feathered baby ducklings!
I got two Cayuga ducks and a Blue Swedish
Starting with a small flock to see how I like it and I may grow into more ducks and/or more chickens
I WAS going to get chickens but boyfriends mom was leery of the idea of the chickens more than the ducks because of destroying the garden and such. She isn't very animal savvy nor understands animals so I am warming her up and will wean into it. We have a huge chicken coop with 10 nests, so it will give me time to make it nice before I bring the chickens in anyways.
Well give a big warm welcome to the baby ducklings!
any fun name suggestions are welcome as well!
These above pics are from Tuesday, the ones below are from today (Saturday) you can already see the growth and change in colors on the blue swedish!
Showed them the yard today and wanted them to see my feet and learn my stepping wasn't something to be scared of. they are more confident then I expected. Climbing right in my lap and exploring all around me.
I got a video of them coming when called too LOL
I think they've imprinted on me <3 They are LOVING the weeds I am putting in their cage as recommended by someone that they will imprint on the weeds and eat those more when they grow up and free roam the yard
