Got my first Chicks today

Was at TSC and I ended up coming home with 6 chicks. I had been planning on getting chicks this spring but wasnt really ready yet. I have the Chickens for dummies book and a good idea of what I want for a coop. However I have no idea what kind of chicks I got. They were labeled black and red pullets. Various egg laying breeds. So I got 3 that are yellow reddish with two slightly darker vertical stripes on the back. And 3 black ones they have some white on heads and butts. Legs look to be grey. Also when one spread its wings it had white on them as well.

If you post some pics in the "What breed or gender" section, someone is bound to know what breeds they are.

Cool do you know if I need a min number of posts before I can put up pics? I dont see an option to upload a file.

I have heard that they changed the posting rules for new members because of the spammers. But if you post a thread someone will likely post some pics for you. Or you could go to the new member section and welcome some other newbies. Don't know how many you'd have to do though. It sounds like your red girls are probably red sexlinks. The black ones are probably black austrolorps. Both are great egg layers.
