I have heard that there is a range of color with mallard eggs. My runners (bred from mallards many many years ago!) lay pale green to pale brown eggs.

I had read that black runners lay green eggs and chocolate runners lay pale brown to tan eggs - but the colors of my ducks are four black and five chocolate, and we get six green and three tan eggs. So . . . .

And Sieben (black) lays bluish green eggs that are almost round.
