Got My First Egg... then nothing

hello all, this is my first time on here and i have to say wow!!! lots of info. Had my first egg on Saturday late afternoon, it was a small one from one of my leghorns. I thought i should be getting an egg a day, she is about 5 1/2 months old i have not gotten one since. I took the egg from the nesting box probably 20 minutes after she laid. did I take it too soon? any input would be great

When a chicken first starts laying, it can be pretty erratic. They can sometimes stop and start laying, or even lay eggs without shells. In a few weeks it usually evens out and they begin to lay regularly.

Thank you for the reply, should i try the golf ball trick? and when one chicken lays an egg does it trigger something with the others, kind of like women when they live together, they synchronize their cycles, for a lack of better example

I guess i am being a little impatient.
