Candled and there is growth! I ended up with 4 eggs to try. The first 2 are definitely growing and the 3rd and 4th look veiny but its hard to tell. For sure though the first 2 are growing!
Yay it's exciting . My honey brought the first egg and told my congratulations! Did they lay in nest box?Last August I picked up 6 chicks from Tractor Supply. 3 blue wyandottes and 3 Amerucaunas. Today, we finally discovered an egg! I'm pretty sure its fertilized since my roo has been going to town for a few weeks now. Pics of the daddy and his lovely ladies![]()
No they are all laying in a nest they made in their bedding. I cant get them to use the nest boxes. They make their own little nest and all of my hens that are laying are using the same nest. Im so excited to know that at least one is likely going to hatch in the next day or so. Its the sweetest thing hearing it cheep inside the shell.Yay it's exciting . Oh cool . They cheeps before it hatches? No they are all laying in a nest they made in their bedding. I cant get them to use the nest boxes. Yeah its so cool! I held the egg to my ear and could hear it cheeping inside. You can feel them moving too. Just have to be super careful and try not to rotate. From what I read you can hurt them. I picked it straight up and put it straight back down the way it was. I was worried about any of them that stopped growing exploding in the incubator so I gave them one last check making sure to keep the incubator shut and not having each out for more than a minute. I am so excited.Oh cool . They cheeps before it hatches?
