Got my first egg today!

We let ours free range too and the first egg was found just 2 days ago in my flower bed. Yesterdays egg was in the nesting box and she laid another today in the same box. So we might be on to something! We have two other pullets that haven't started yet, but are very curious about our Barred Rock, Harriet. Size has increased each day. I have been reading and haven't found out if it is alright to eat the first few eggs or not.
