pretty sure, they were Ameraucanas when I bought them from the hatchery... easter eggers hadn't been invented yet.
but hey, they're hatchery birds, so who knows? maybe the predcessors to easter eggers.

Gee, thanks everyone. My olive eggers came from 5 hatching eggs from a BYCer who practically gave them to me, I just paid shipping....she was so sweet,

, and I got a 100% hatch rate to boot!! Now I have these lovely colored eggs.

All around, I'd say it was a blessed event!


I've tried to get a blue layer forever.
Firstly, my "Ameraucana" from a hatchery gives me a regular cream egg.
Next, I tired hatching some easter eggers, but hatched all roosters!
Then, I tried hatching some blue Ameracanas, but most of the eggs were infertile/had blood rings, except for 1 and it turned out to be a rooster!!
Gee, will I ever get any blue eggs?

Now, in the brooder I have 9 BBS Ameracaunas.......praying that some of them are hens.

Here are a couple the olive eggers. The papa was a Blue Wheaten Ameraucana and the mama was a Marans.......I don't know what else to call this cross, so I call them olive egger.
