Got my holderread ducklings today

Lain, I would have to ship him in a mate lol. Maybe get him a few pekin hens... Hes already 2 times bigger then my week old rouen ducklings. Hes gonna be HUGE!

Celtic, she is very careful where she steps... Shes afraid of them all right now . Shes not.liking the silkie babies, they keep wanting to be buddy-buddy with her lol.

The appleyard was trying to pick on Daisy's buddy (week old rouen duckling) and she shoowed him away, very protective of the rouen. So cute.

Thank you so much for posting these pictures; I am waiting for my four TSQ Australian Spotted ducklings from Holderreads, so this was nice to see other ducklings from there! You should keep posting pictures of those silkies!

I'm curious to know what yours will end up looking like.

DG they are precious, and you aren't using your noodle, if your apple yard is a drake now you have an excuse to get him a duck. Duck math, same as chicken

I love duck math. It's actually more intensive than chicken math. Oops, extra drake. That means I need 3-5 more ducks.

See above for hatching egg source. Pekins are a lot of fun too, but better to have purebred hatching eggs, after all!

got my first duck yesterday 4 runners i'm geussing white / fawn and the other were told to be campbell, blue swede, black swede, pekin or what the guy i trade them from said hope i got a good deal 4 runners and 28 others not sure whats what new to ducks but already tell i'm really gonna get hooked on runners I likem...

Kinda like silkie chickens. Not really though. Theu have the furry like feel, and their bantams. Also $15 each. So I only got 3 hehe!

Turns out,.. out of the 6 welshies, 4 are females, and 2 are males! Yeha! Lol. Will probably keep the best 2 hens, and the best drake. Maybe all the hens if they look good enough. I want to breed for quality though, so we will see! All the silkies will stay probably.

My Holderread's order came today too. I got ten TSQ Saxonies and an extra Stanbridge White (Magpie) duckling. My girlfriend and I sexed some of them and it looks like the white Magpie is a pullet and I definitely have at least one drake Saxony duckling (I'm wanting a few drakes because I already have three Saxony hens). They're so friggin' adorable!

I've never managed to catch either of the farm silkies to feel their feathers. Someday I'll have some of my own!

The funniest thing is watching the silkie drake chasing the runner girls around trying to get some action. He never catches them.
