Got my nest box done

They were supposed to be 12 x 12 x 12 but I didn't think about the lumber dimensions so the openings ended up being 11" high and the two on the ends ended up only 10.5" wide, I hope the girls don't mind.

Thanks for the pics! We start building next week and I hadn't taken into account the lumber dimensions either. We plan on having them open from the outside too. It must feel great to have a project completed.

I did the same with my nest boxes. Two are 11 x 11 and one is 10 x 11. I get more eggs in the 10 x 11 than the other two. Go figure..... chicken logic.

Very nice. Do the chains get caught in the door opening? I moved the door connection inward and that stopped it for me.

That's pretty much what I'm hoping for, if need be I'll yank it off of there and open it up more.
