My friend and I went together on the order and I have no idea which chicks are which now lol. Can some one post pictures of what there chicks look like. I am guessing the darker ones are the cuckoo marans, but I dont know what golden phoenix or ameraucanas look like which are the kind my friend ordered. I ordered the same amount of each, duuuuuuuumy me.

check out feathersite.com then go to the poultry link. They have photos of all the chicken breeds, chicks to adults. It really helps. don't forget to look for clues like leg color, feathered feet, beak color, etc... good luck!

silkies have dark skin too.

And frizzles should have their wing feathers curling forwards at just a few days old. But not all frizzles will be frizzled. A few may not but will still have the gene.

silkies will have feathered legs, as will the frizzles. The comb will give the difference between the 2. The frizzles should have a single comb and the silkies should have a walnut (should look pretty flat at this point). Also the silkies are supposed to have black/dark skin. All frizzles are not frizzled....
Cuckoo marans will be black with a white spot on the head.
Ameraucana are really EE's and will be any color BUT with a pea comb, looks like small bumps.

darn thing posted before I finished - I don't know anything about phoenix or OE so I can't help there, sorry

If you can check their combs, I know they are small. Ameraucanas will have a flat comb and phoenix a single comb. I think Ameraucanas have green legs.
If the OE are banatms they will be cery small, fairly small LF too. They may be chipmunks too, depending on the color you ordered.

I am not sure, but I think that the dark ones would probably be cuckoos.

hi thanks...I noticed that the ameracuanas and Golden Phoenix DO look similar and have the chipmonk type marking on thier backs. They are the ones my friend ordered and I hope/think I got the right chicks to her lol....

I ordered 10 cuckoo marans (they were easy to distinguish) I ordered
6 st run feathered footed assortment so I have NO idea what I got in that bunch
10 silkies
10 Frizzles
6 old english (which I am guessing is what is left that does not have the feathered feet) I only after all the dead ones have 4 left that do not have feathered feet.

I ordered 54 chicks in total and 10 ducks and I lost 2 ducks and 8 chicks total ( I ordered some extra just in case (from Ideal POultry) they were kind enough to refund what I lost. I initially had 3 dead and the rest died with in 12 hours of being at my house They took 2 days to get here. I will post pictures when I can.
