Thats something that I would have done. I'm too soft for my own good sometimes......
Just make sure the leg is stable, splinted if its a free break thats actually loose. Keep the duck quiet, seperated so she does not try to get up and run everytime there is a noise or a chicken walks by. Give her some extra feed, fresh greens and vitemins and she'll be ok after a coulple weeks. Some oyester shell or other form of calcium to aid in healing.
Ducks can do some amazing healing IF they are kept quiet and taken care of for a short time...
Glad that you saw her. No tellin what her future would have been with a broken leg at a farm store...I have a feeling that you were the last chance...
Good luck with your duck. The best part is that once healed she will always remember your kindness and be loyal to you like a puppy. Too many folks ignore their ducks too much and never build the bond that ducks make with their humans. Its a very strong bond that never goes away and last a lifetime. Honor that by giving her a few minutes of your time each day.
