Got our first egg yesterday and our chickens are only about 18 weeks!

2 of my sex-links were laying before 18 weeks and all 5 were laying before 20 weeks. End of July early August.
You must have a sex-links chicken, to start laying that young, this time of year.

We have 3 red sex links with one looking more like a golden comet/cinnamon queen, 1 Isa brown, 1 barred rock and 1 australorp. My daughters were so excited! My youngest took the egg from my older daughters hand and it accidentally fell to the ground. But it was really awesome to finally have that first egg!
