Got some eggs today!!!!!

While I check on my chickens daily and make sure their food and water are good etc I hadn't stepped into the coop in about 3 days. I went in this morning to clean up and found these!!!! They were in 2 opposite corners.

I'm going to get my nesting boxes installed today....I only built them 2 days ago. I thought I had another month or two before my girls started laying. They are only 5 months old.

Very cool! Same thing happened to me last week

I thought I had three eggs but found a fourth. Then when I was putting the nesting boxes in I dug around in the pine shavings some and found a fifth. I wonder how long they've been laying and burying the eggs. I'll start doing a thorough inspection every morning until the boxes start getting used regularly.
