I'm new to this board and just completed my chicken coop last week and got some chicks yesterday. I didn't see an area for introductions so here goes. The drawer isn't in, hence the gap area. and the door is open on the inside of the coop and being held open with a stick.

I got two Buff Orpington hens, one Guinea Fowl (sex to be determined although I've heard the single/double syllable trick to their call distinguishes them) which are about four weeks old and I was told the whitish one is a Rhode Island Red but looks nothing like other images I've seen of RIR chicks.

Can somebody help me identify the white one? Is it a White and Black Bantam, Silky, Silver Penciled, etc? Thanks a lot.

He doesn't appear to be a purebred. He's definately a male though.

If your guinea is a female, she will make a noise that sounds vaguely like she's saying "buck-wheat". It's very distinct, but doesn't start happening until maturity.

Yeah. I knew it wasn't a RIR. I got them from a lady in North Lakeland, Florida. She had a large assortment of chickens and the majority were all with the same breeds. Only a few were wandering outside coops or cages so I guess this is a 'mutt'? LOL..Thanks for your help. I'll post a pic as it matures.
