Got surprised with 2 chicks...and I wasnt ready!

I've never kept chickens before.
A friend of mine randomly gave me 2 chicks and I dont have any supplies ready for them...
For now I gave them a little storage box to live in and paper towels as bedding.
I gave them instant oats to eat and water in a cat dish.
I will go now to Tractor Supply to get proper food for them and a bigger storage bin at Wal-Mart.

Since you are Tractor Supply see what they have for a chick bin. They may still have a chick starter kit that is a bin idea.

I think just chick crumble and probably a waterer and food holder. Oh and grit because I gave them instant oats.
I wasn't stocked up with anything yet

And a heat lamp.
You may want to grab some electrolytes to add to their waterer. It will help minimize their stress level.

I don't have a coop at all.
I was just preparing my yard to build a coop and then ordering chicks after it's built.

The weather is hot in Arizona now, but will go buy a heat source
