Well we picked up out 50 cornish Giant chicks yesterday and put them in the coop. They are just so flipping adorable I can't stand it. They all look extremely healthy too, no dried poop, curious as all get out. I'm finding it extrmely hard not to get attached as the hubby said to me when we were driving home from picking them up "you know we are eating every single one of those, don't get too attached."

I have at least a month before we get the chicks I can actualy get attached too and name and play with. Oh soo hard........ I'll post some pics of the little jiggers.

It's amazing how darling those meat chicks are as day-olds, and how un-attractive they are at about 2 weeks old... By the time they're 7 weeks old, I have no problem butchering!

Enjoy the chickens while they are growing and then enjoy the meaty goodness that they provide you and that they are all natural and not injected with hormones and additives like most super market chickens are prior to them being butchered.

I would like to see those photos.

I let my last batch of cornish X's out to free range a bit most days, and it really seemed to do them some good. None went down on their legs. It was fun to sit outside with them and watch those big ol' babies waddle around. They were so different from my laying flock!

Here they are in all their cuteness
