OK, so . . . the Genesis and turner arrived today. Of course I had to set it up to see if it works correctly and holds a good temperature, right? Now it is just sitting there staring at me - empty and accusing . . . .
My younger chicks are 12 weeks, so the cockerels aren't sexually mature yet, and even if they were, their brood-mate-pullets aren't. Of course, there are those older girls (29 weeks and laying), but I think my poor roos would poop themselves if one of those girls squatted in front of them.
Maybe some hatching eggs? Just to see if the incubator works, and to have a practice run for when it counts, right? Yeah, that's it (the wife's gonna kill me).
I know it probably doesn't matter, but is there a consensus out there for what breed may have less hatching problems? Is there a correlation at all? I have been thinking about some Lavender Orps or Cream Legbars.
She-Who-Must-Be-Obeyed just doesn't understand Chicken Math . . . .
