Got the wrong feed. Will they be okay???

I sent my husband to the feed store to get my 18 week old hens/pullets some feed. Before I read the sack we had loaded all the feeders (50lbs). Are they going to be OK with this for a few weeks? I’ve got one or two girls that have started playing and I have supplemental oyster shells out for them.

Just as a separate dish of Oyster Shells.
I stopped feeding layer couple years ago, instead going higher protein (Flock Raiser 20%) with Oyster Shells in a separate dish. Haven't had any egg/shell issues.

I'd just be careful with the protein level but I'm sure they will be fine till you get the right feed. You could always mix the two feeds..

Sorry, that is a horrible feed for your birds, no telling what may happen. . . .Just JOKING! They will be perfectly fine! I always keep a 20 to 24% chick food on hand and once a week I fill 3 dishes for my hens. They act like I am giving them candy and really love it. They lay so many eggs for me the extra protein helps them and your birds will be just fine! Relax, if a glass of wine will help, have one. . .or two. . . .
