We have 6 pullets (6 weeks) and 4 guineas (5weeks) in our coop. We we did until this morning. One of our guineas was missing and I found it in the shed beside the coop yelling its little head off. I have been letting the chickens out to free range when i get home after work for a few hours before dark. I am hoping that he will buddy up with the chicks tonight and go back in the coop.

O well, I was planning on letting them out eventually, but not for another month or so.

It may get smart and go in with the chickens. Or if you can keep it confined to the shed until dark, you should be able to catch it easily. Guineas are blind in the dark and do not like to move around much (except when they explode when you catch them, so be ready). Throwing a towel over it when you grab it might help. Let it loose in the coop with the others, giving it some light until it gets up on the perch with the others since it can't see in the dark.

Good luck!

Depending on how far the coop is from the shed and obstacles involved you can herd the keet back to the others. Be patient and be ready for it to go off in the wrong direction to escape you. I got plenty of experience doing that with escapees.

Went home at lunch and let the chickens out and after a few minutes of herding got them all back in the coop. All is well again.
