My new calico! Got her off Craigslist. Apparently she was a stray that some guy took in for a couple of months but he's a trucker & since he's not home much, decided she needed a home that could give her more attention. Hooray for me! She's a real sweetheart but somebody told a little white lie about her being litterbox trained. I have no idea how old she is but she recently had kittens, so she's not spayed. I'm taking her to the vet this week to have her checked out & wormed, etc. We haven't named her yet. Any suggestions would be welcome.

She's very pretty ! Hope she learns how to go in the litter box soon ! She kinda looks like a "Chessie" to me , although crazy quilt is cute too !

Spunken. She reminds me of a calico I had years ago with that name who lived to be 14 yr. old. Sweet kitty. Always female. Yours is strikingly beautiful. I have a sweet dark gray tabby tom now, (or he has me!) Congratulations. I know she will be one happy cat living with you.

This is my other calico, Daisy. I found her listed in the classifieds. When I went to pick her up, I was surprised the lady was giving her kittens away at all b/c they were only 5wks old. I'm no cat expert but aren't they supposed to be at least 8-9wks old? When I asked that lady the very same question, she then told me they were 9wks old. Hmmm, okay, yeah right. I wasn't gonna take the kitten until I saw the momma cat crept by while we were talking. That poor thing looked like it was on its last leg. There were 2 kittens left, so I took them both. I got them home & within a few hours I discovered they were infested with worms. OMG, it was so gross- they were literally pooping white stringy worms! (gosh I hope y'all have already eaten & I didn't wreck anyone's appetite). One kitten died a few days later. After a trip to the vet, the other kitty made it thru & while she's a runt, she's a sweetheart & a great mouser! This is Daisy. She'll be 2yrs in the Fall.

My parents had a diabetic calico, too, she lived at least two more years after her diagnosis, they gave her insulin shots every day.

Our first calico, Cali the Alley Cat, lived to be 17 - she just curled up underneath the car in the driveway (she liked the heat after the car was parked) and went to sleep.
