Gouldian Finch eggs in the 'bator! Pics!!

finch eggs are about the size of a pea. I raise zebra finches. I cant imagine even trying to hand feed a newly hatched one, how do you even find their mouths? they are just little pink bugs with a little fuzz! I dont think I would want to try!

I wouldn't want to get into hand feeding. I don't have time to feed them every half hour. If worse comes to worse, I know someone who will take the babies for her societies.
Question, can one female society raise chicks from Gouldians?

eeek if that was me i'd get in gear on learning how to hand feed. If your pair doesnt accept them, that'dbe sad just to watch the chicks fade away and die starving

I am pretty sure that my societies will raise them. One of my big flight cages has a really good bunch of birds in it and they all feed babys wether they are theirs or not. I just can't get any sitting tight on eggs and I don't want to risk loosing the birds in the shell.
However, my Male Gouldian came from a breeder that had to hand raise his clutch.....he is still a little hand tame. So I know it can be done....I have the food and I am ready, but JEEZE!
I am just praying that the sqauking of babies birds will entice an adult to care for them.

I just thought I would give an update on the Gouldian eggs.
A pair of my society finches have laid a clutch of eggs and are sitting tight on them. So I replaced their eggs with the 3 viable Gouldian eggs. The eggs should hatch sometime after this Thursday. I will let everyone know how it goes.
