Gower's Feed Eastern Panhandle ChIcKeNsToCk Sat. July 9th Ranson, WV

Let's do it!! If we split a room, that would be awesome... We could fit two more in the trailblazer and we may need to take the cargo carrier on top for luggage because we'll need the way back for new additions

-bats eyes- I know I don't know you all that well, but I did buy birds off you both (Tammy and Erin)... That means we're family through birdy adoption, right? LOL
Last I checked a Comfort Inn (I think it was CI) near the grounds was $75 a night for a room with 2 full sized beds. I can sleep on the roll out one they usually provide... Or the floor.

I do want to go, but I am on the fence about it. After this hatching, I am going to have over 100 chickens. I need to sell/cull/send some to freezer boot camp before I even consider getting more! Or I'll be getting a divorce. Or did he say a new horse? Hmmm...

I just looked at the date and it's Halloween weekend. We're planning a big party here that weekend so I probably won't be able to make it. Let me see what I can work out.

Tammy I am plaining on going to crossroads.
Erin I will be there with very few birds just extras and late hatchlings from your swap.
I will have aussie x quad. LF -point of laying and 1 chick (hatched from XLG and Jumbo Eggs),
2 blue Wyandotte chicks,
2 white guinea chicks
That is it for now till the fall swap.
So what is the rules for this one this time?
I will just have my Tahoe so no worries there.
Let me know if I need anything else.
Ok just read the thread.
That's great about the waiting to sell time glad we all agreed to that!
If anyone will have call ducks PLEASE LET ME KNOW!

Tammy, your nesting box guy didn't make it but, many others did. It was easily double the amount of vendors from Gower's 2010... but, the buyers were easily half. I was rather disappointed and came home with a lot of birds. I did sell a dozen golden comets, the three cochin hens went within minutes and I sold a couple of pullets. I did meet more great people and have a fella coming today to get more cochins and actually had a chance to walk around and visit with friends. Nursecat, always a pleasure

I also bought some really neat little cages to put chicks in at the next swap from my friend, Virginia. JustTom was there with two very handsome young boys and some very nice rabbits. Tonya was riding solo and without the trailer as was I. ... really think we need to spread these things out a bit more next year and make the effort to get the flyers out. I dropped the ball with that this time and also THE LIST gets buyers more interested in some things in particular. I was just so beat from the last one and had to tend my seriously overgrown garden. It has been like a search and rescue mission. .. discovered some collard green, carrots and bell peppers the other day I forgot I even planted

I hope I get something from them as they're looking a bit weepy. "Next year, I'll be more organized" I feel like I've said that every year for the past 5!

I would like to suggest we hold our next summer swap at TSC in Martinsburg instead of Gowers. The customer base this time was poor. I believe the reasons for this was the date being changed several times, not enough spacing of time between swaps, and not enough advertising. With the date changes, it was difficult to do the latter until the last 2 weeks. IMO Gowers is a bit harder to find and actually see the sign as you drive down the road. I think TSC is more agreeble to our swaps and there is more room.
