grafting chicks to a broody...

how is it done I have a silkie broody and only 1 is hatching I have 11 chicks that are about 3 days old so how do I graft them PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!

Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't.... but I slip chicks under a broody in the middle of the night. Really dark nights seem to work best. If she can see what I'm putting under her, the rejection rate is higher.

Boy, do I LOVE grafting under my Black Australorps and Dark Cornish from McMurrays because it has always worked! (I should say if it's after about 10 or 11 PM). The only time it was a no go and the mom turned on newbies was during the light and it was brutal. A rescue operation ensued. Maybe the quality of the breed has something to do with it. All I know is that I'll never cull a broody.
