Grains from my local brewery???

Once grain has been used for brewing it has little to no nutritional value left. It depends onteh grain and the type of brewing done, but basically it's the equivalent of a cheeto minus the fake cheese coating. One of the guys I work with is a big time brewer with a son whose a biochemist so he's actually done studies of the used grain.

I'd have to disagree with that. The brewing process removes the carbohydrates, but the wet grain is still high in protein. It has a good deal of nutritional value. When I stop feeding it if I run out for a few days, my birds don't lay well and my goats reduce their milk output dramatically. I know people who have dairy cows that don't eat anything but brewer's grain, no pasture at all, and they're fat and milking good. I use it with my milk goats to cut down on my hay bill, I give them all they can eat of the brewer's grains; they won't get acidosis from it like they do normal grain because almost all the sugar and carbs are gone. I've got one goat that lives on the stuff pretty much because she is old and has trouble chewing hay.
