grains?

stupid question here were do you get grains to feed the chickens like scratch?

tryed all the feed stores around me!
going alittle further out tomorrow to one that order my DE so I will alos look there too!

I get my scratch grains at the TSC....and sometimes at the feed mill. Just remember....there is a lot of corn in there...and therefore not good for them during these hot summer days.

I mix my own scratch. I buy bags of oats at the horse feed store and mix it with a little cracked corn and some times whole wheat and a little birdseed. Once in a while I give them a couple handfuls of rabbit feed when they can't get outside as a substitute for fresh greens and grass. In the summer I just give them the oats as to keep them a little cooler. If you know of anyone who keeps horses you can ask them to sell you some oats, they often buy bulk so it will be a lot cheaper.
