You can add safflower seed its 30% pro. Id say 80 lbs scratch to 20 lbs safflower seed.

wow the responds where what i thought ! and yes i do live with my grandfather and hes more like my dad

but anywho i was thinking as you all are ! i recently bought 40 chicks and we are raising them together as he don't speek English i have to get every information that i get in Spanish for him so now i dont tell him nothing and i just get information and give it to him and tell him "grandpa i got you some information on chickens that i dident even know about "

LoL but other then that we are both learning and its awesome

today @ 1030 i got my first chicken born in the incubator

yaaaaay 2 out of 35 so far today is day 19 1/2

thanks everyone on this site i am so glad i found this site it made me and my grandfather come closer

p.s the chickens do have butt feathers missing too and the have thinning feathers all over there body but i dont think its pecking from other hens or roos!

How do you up the protein in your scratch grains, what should I add, besides BOSS?
