The first thing that pops into my head is soil pH. Beans like slightly acidic soil. If your soil is alkaline, that interferes with iron take up.

Quick test: take a scoop of the soil and pour some vinegar on it. If it bubbles, it's probably to alkaline. (The acid vinegar reacting with the alkaline soil.) You can add a soil acidifier to fix that, like chelated iron.
 
Turnips--- this is my second sowing, they now have 2 leaves, so they need to be thinned,
I really dont know how to get them to grow bigger than a pencil. I have done all that I have red to do.

Just planted these exact turnips today. From Territirial seeds. Also planted Hakeuri (spelling? I don’t have packet in front of me) from Territorial.
