So I finally got my little Polish bantam chickens that I've longed for!
Postal eggs, 6 purebred Paduan in a mixed color group (gold laced and chamois), and 6 Paduan/Vithätta mix.
Fun fact, in Sweden and Norway they are considered different breeds! I understand that in the US they're just distinguished by color (golden/buff laced, white crested black and so on)?
Since the eggs were mailed I put in four eggs from my own flock, a mix between my bantams (showgirl roo and green egger hens) just to minimize the risk of having a single chick hatching.
On the 20-21/1 11 out of 16 little chicks hatched! 4 of my own, 3 pure Padovana and 4 of the mix.
So who's in for the sexing guessing game eventually?
These are the first pictures of some of them, taken 22/1
Will be updating the thread with pics as they continue to grow
