Grapes cause chickens to go bazerko

Wow I knew my girls liked grapes but my goodness. Today I brought home a big tub of grapes, ect. (I cater and left overs that were still in cooler that was going to get pitched they let me bring home to my chickens)

Anyhow I took a bowl out to them and they went bazerko

. Fighting and chasing each other and steeling from each other and taking off running. It was the funniest thing ever!!!!

I have 3 niabelle grape vines that produce TONS of grapes and whenever I toss some out for the hens you'd think I gave them a snail - they LOVE them.
Speaking of....off to make grape juice!

Gee I wonder if grapes were semi frozen, would they help hens cool down in summer heat? It was 101 degrees here today the the girls were panting.

We've been getting some seriously hot weather, though not as hot as Seattle right now, and I tossed some frozen blueberries in the coop for the babies, and since they had so much fun, I tossed some in for my older layers too. Boy, small round things and chickens make for one heck of a laugh!!
