Coons not coins. Coons will usually kill several and drag each off but a cat will try eating after a mauling brutal killing.

Most likely a hawk. I've witnessed them with a starling and they pin the bird down to the ground and start plucking breast feathers to make a clean entry to the breast meat. Just like shown in the photo.
