*Graphic Photos* why did this chick die?

Hi again everybody,
This morning I discovered one of my silkie eggs had died in its shell, at day 12 i believe..I took some photos and as I am only new to hatching wondered if anybody could tell me what may have happened? I am so worried my eggs once again wont hatch 4 left as of now

Chicks can die due to a ton of causes. It is very common, actually, for chicks to die during incubation or hatching. However, it can also be due to improper temperature or humidity, poor genetics, inbreeding, lethal genes (I doubt that would be the cause in this case), poor nutrition of the breeding flock, or perhaps rough handling of the egg.

Thanks for your reply GitaBooks. Do you think it could be anything to do with me lowering my humidity last night? I am trying to increase the size of their air cells!

I'm no expert, but I doubt it. It would depend on how severe the humidity change was.
