I may try that but grass seeds are expensive around here. Thanks though I will definitely try it someday

Yes they weren't from mowing I was just pulling up the grass sometimes with roots and sometimes not for them

Yeah, that can be a problem -- when they can get long, fibery strands that they don't process well.

If your pulling strands or clumps with roots of grass, just partially bury them in dirt to anchor the grass.

I feed my chickens fresh grass that are 2 feet long, I just pull them out like weeds and bury the root part in dirt and packed the dirt around it. Basically replanting it.
