Grass/Hay and Straw

I do toss grass clippings into my run (whatever they don't eat, which is most of it, becomes part of the litter) but I try to keep the clippings fairly short. I've had a hen with mild impacted crop before - that same hen will choke down long blades of grass and stalks 7", 9" or more if allowed.

I’ll try it and watch for crop issues. I guess next year I’ll be looking into growing, drying, and storing some for the following winter.
