Grass or no grass???

No grass in either of my runs and I don't free range BUT they do love it when we pick them grass and toss it in the run.

A month or so ago someone posted pictures of their fantastic chicken coop and run which had grass growing in it. As I recall, they kept grass growing by having a wire fencing (hardware cloth?) over the grass with patio blocks (or something) holding it up.
I remember it because it was a clever way to prevent the chickens from eating the grass below the wire.
I'm short of time now, or I'd try to find the pictures. I remember it well because the run they had looked like a chicken playground.
