Grass seed and free ranging chickens

I need to reseed my lawn. My chickens have free run of the place. How soon do you think it will be safe to let them back out to the lawn? It is not there favorite place to go but I am sure they will clean up the grass seed? Thoughts on this? Thanks

I wouldn't let them in that area until the grass is coming up. They will scatch put the seed if they are in it before the grass comes up.

They'll also scratch up the grass unless you pen them off of it.

Will the grass seed be bad for them to eat? Are "golden comets" the same as golden sex links? Thanks

I think they are. I'm pretty sure that they are a cross between a female white rock and a male RIR.
