Hello fellow geese lovers

I could imagine this is a newbie question, so bear with me

My geese community has rapidly expanded from 3 to 27, and I have (surprisingly) discovered that my beloved geese eat a lot.
So in an attempt to prevent bankruptcy, I consider supplementing my gosling-food with barley or wheat.
My grassing goslings are all more than 3 weeks old.

Would it be enough for my little critters to 'just' get wheat and barley, instead of those rather expensive dedicated pellets I now buy?

Does wheat/barley need to be rolled?

Wheat makes them fat, so go easy on that.

How old are the goslings? If they're under four weeks, they'll have trouble swallowing whole grain.

If they're outside foraging on new green grass most of the day, they don't need much else. Then barley combined with a little wheat will be an excellent supplement to their diet. Try gradually adding the whole grain to the pellets.
