1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I am new to chickens, but have loved them from afar, since I was a little girl. The rescue I help at has had rescue chickens for several years now. I am eager to learn as much as possible.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
We have two Roosters, 2 hens and four chicks.
(3) What breeds do you have?
We are unsure of their breeds. One was rescued from Craigslist, while the others were brought to the rescue.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
They are incredible animals, highly intelligent, incredible at keeping bugs at bay, and overall great company.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Animal rescue work, spiritual work, energy work with animals and humans. Everything equine.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I work for a Veterinarian as an admin team member, and our family includes dogs, cats and horses, while the rescue has chickens, ducks, a field rat, pigs, goats, dogs, cats, and a most recently rehabbed squirrel that we were able to save the life of, and get to our wildlife center in the city. Our next door neighbors have great peacocks who love coming to visit, and we have 6 crows in a Murder that love to talk to us. Plus, all of the wildlife that chooses to show us their incredible presence.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I googled our chick’s symptoms, and found this incredible forum! So helpful!
