I saw an article where the run was covered in gravel and have some questions.
1) don't the chickens dig threw the gravel, down to the ground?
2) how would you pick up the poo?
I have a gravel porch outside my safe area but when I let my chickens out to run they poo and dig in the gravel if they don't see something better to distract them. Finally put put down shingles just so they couldn't get to it. In their safe area, they dig all around the edges, sometimes low enough to allow for mice to burrow in. Ugh it's maddening! Trying to find a better way cause eventually mice will equal snake...not my favorite critters. Need advice...PLEASE
