Gravy's tail is gone??

My parrots have been molting so I'm sure that's what is up with Gravy but he has no long tail feathers. He's butt is shorter than the hens. When chickens molt can they loose them all at once???

There's nothing that can get to them so I know he wasn't attacked. But I find it just plain odd. My parrots don't loose all their tail feathers at once.

Yep - chickens molting can look like somebody exploded.

They do tend to lose all their feathers in a very short amount of time, unlike parrots which molt more individual feathers.

Whew, that's nice to know. One morning he had all his feathers and the next evening all gone. He looks so funny right now...hahaha
