They would track it to my router an pull the data from it to get the hardware of the end users PC. There is ways to hide but it is beyond the skills of most users. Otherwise internet cafes could not stay in business.

Did you register it when you bought it and set it up when you got it out of the box? Also did you buy it with cash you got 2-3 days ago at least from the bank? they could track where you got it from, I have a computer bought at a local best buy. it had best buy software on it right out of the box (I set the computer up after I bought it so I know they didn't do it back in the back for an extra fee but they wanted me to pay $$$$ for them to set it up (updates anti-bad guy stuff I could buy and install myself)) also I heard on Kim Komando's (computer and electronics advise/talk show) radio show this weekend and low and behold the government admitting to spying on people using webcams in every piece of technology on the internet.

And how does anyone know who's PC it is ?
Its hard to hide who's it is. You could steal a PC an trash it after doing what ever you were doing but otherwise that mac address is your finger print. It can be tracked from the manufacturer to the user. It can be tracked threw the OS to the user. It can even be tracked on the network if it reconnects.

Again all this can be beat but its not something most users know how to do.

No point in trying to hide. Why hide when you can fight back? Set a program that any system remote accessing your computer be subject to a cookie "flood." Do you really think google is going to press charges against you for shutting down their system when you explain it happened because they were accessing your computer without your consent?

Besides the US Supreme Court Jesters have decided that there is no "Reasonable Expectation of Priacy" once you are connected to the internet. If you dont want to be tracked, pay a hacker, or stop paying for your internet.

Do people really think that it even would be possible to track all cash money ?

Why would I put a webcam on the computer if I want to stay anonymous ?

I can buy a computer at any Wal-Mart and register it using any name I wish to. I could even register it under Rebels name, after all I'm using his wifi. You can even buy a used computer and not have to change the registration. There's nothing hard about staying anonymous.

Cash is hard to track but it does not have to be. The PC can still be tracked. The point was never that someone in the know could never post thing anonymously. The point was that except for a few very smart people, the rest of us can be tracked if someone wants to put some effort in to it. All of the stuff on this thread could help you hide but its way beyond the effort most people will be willing to put in to hiding an it is still traceable. Black hat hackers get caught all the time. Its just a matter of getting someone mad enough to actually put the effort in finding them.

Timothy McVeigh was found by a number on an axle that was used to find the registered owner who helped draw a picture of the person with the truck. That picture was passed around till they got a name. Fake name, cash, no pictures or security cameras but still tracked down in hours.

Hmmmm! Pretty soon the government will be able to find out who wrote on the toilet wall.
