Well, it seems someone is looking to spend some money. I have received about six letters with offers to buy my house. They all came from different sources, but they all contained the same verbiage. No repairs required, they will pay all closing cost and title insurance. Payment will be cash money.
Is this a scam? Well, one son says it is. The other says it isn't. Worse, the neighbors got the same letters. My first thought was maybe they are going to bulldoze the neighborhood, therefore, repairs would not be needed.
But, I live in what would be called ghetto or the barrio. It is tacky, but I like it here, and frankly, I don't think we could live elsewhere. Or at least elsewhere where I could keep chickens.
Anyway, one would have to be crazy to spend that kind of money in this area. So what is behind this?
Well, October 20th, the IMF will meet to establish new currency rules and a new reserve currency system. It looks like the dollar is out. Could it be that some people are anxious to convert their dollars to hard assets? Have they begun to dump the dollar already, knowing what is coming?
I foresee a period of inflation as those dollars held overseas come home in exchange for real assets. Inflation of prices without a corresponding raise in wages will result in a falling standard of living. Worse, foreigners could buy up our food supply. Our government is great at some things, but it cannot print up jars of peanut butter.
This worries me.
Tedious but interesting reading: http://armstrongeconomics.com/2014/...aturities-of-govt-debt-to-prevent-redemption/
It seems as if the safest place for your wealth is under your mattress.
The Dollar will still be the number one reserve currency for a very long time.
