****UPDATE**** With her help, we finally got the rest of the egg and shell out. She's eating and drinking now and I'm keeping her inside until she starts feeling herself. THANKS Everyone that helped!!!!
I have a tiny Serama hen that was egg bound, so I put her in a warm salt bath 3 times and no movement. I also put petroleum jelly all around and inside her vent, but this last time she started contracting, the egg broke. Not all of the egg content came out and the shell is still inside. What can I do to get the rest out and is there anything I can give her besides the tums? Thank you so much in advance!!

Can you tell if the shell is hard or if it is just a membrane? Did you feel it before it broke? Could she have already expelled the shell? I would give her some calcium or Tums right away. If you have a heating pad, set it to LOW, and place a moist thick towel on top of it for her to lie on. If she has already passed the shell, then just let her rest and skip the heating pad. Get her drinking some water with electrolytes. Hoepfully, others with experience will chime in.

I felt it before it broke and it had a shell, but the shell was very soft. I have her on tums water. I do it that way because they tend to drink before eating it. I also added the electrolytes. The smashed shell is still inside her. I will do the heating pad with towel. Is there anything I can do if it doesn't come out?

I would insert a finger gently just inside her vent, to feel around for any remaining egg matter or shell membrane. She may have passed it already if she or another chicken saw it. If you have a vet familiar with chickens, that would be a good choice. Repeat the Tums for the next 2-3 days.

I'm going to try that.
