Wow! Thanks so much for sharing! It must be normal for ducks to very occasionally layer a super thick colored bloom on their eggs - even though they normally lay white ish appearing eggs. I feel much better now!Today i got a really green egg
As an interesting note i had given the flock as a group a dose of liquid calcium... could be a factor? There were only the 2 really big eggs and i have 2 pekins and 2 rouens.. i feel confident the green bloom is a Rouen not positive about the otherWow! Thanks so much for sharing! Oh, that is interesting. I hadn't dosed my duck with calcium until after, but her green egg had a remarkably thick shell. When I found the green egg I found the paper thin shelled egg in the nest at the same time, and I'm not sure if it came right before or after. As an interesting note i had given the flock as a group a dose of liquid calcium... could be a factor?
