Hello everyone, I just have some quick questions on Green Cheek Conures.

1) Are they loud, and do they make a lot of noise at night?

2) Would they do well with Coturnix Quail and Button Quail?

3) How much attention do they need daily?

4) Are they a lot of work?

Conures are in the parakeet family. They sleep at night so they wouldn’t be noisy.
You want to keep them out side with quails??? Why? They can fly away high and far with out having their wings clipped. They are a small parrot. I would not mix them. If you want a tame friendly bird that requires attention daily.

Most people keep them indoors in cages. What’s your thinking about putting it with quail????

I own 2 button quail... They live inside with me. In my room :D. Just was wondering. I have a massive burddd cage for my quails, thought i could save some money, by putting a future conure in that cage.

Edit: Thanks for the fast responce :

Hey AQuailNAmedFrancis,

To answer your questions:

1) They will make a little noise, but its not something that will drive you insane. Especially, if you have Button Quails!

2) I do not know how they would do with Quail. If you do try it, make sure to be watching and separate them if they do not do well with each other.

3) I currently own a Sun conure and I usually give her atleast an hour of attention every day. I usually get home from school, and take her out and hold her, put her on my shoulder, do activities with her on my shoulder. She just kinda hangs out on my shoulder. She really enjoys her tummy rubs!! haha

4) Yes they are work. But aren't all animals work? You do have to clean her cage and feed her and care for her, but its very easy. Its not like its a 1500 pound horse.

I personally do recommend Conures. Very fun and nice birds.

Good luck

Yes green cheek conures are sometimes loud and their call can be ear piercing, my single one sometimes out does all four of my indian ringnecks on noise level. We have a night time routine where I half cover his cage and turn the light off and he knows it's time to bed and keeps quiet until sunup.
You could get away with keeping it with quails providing it's a large aviary and the quail have places to hide but defiantly not in something such as a cage or a smaller aviary designed for a patio.
I find my green cheek and my mothers needs regular handling at least once a day or they become testy.
They are no more work than any other parrot really
