Cabbage, broccoli, many types of leafy greens are healthy and tasty when green. Limes, Honeydew melons, and even pistachios are green when ripe. none of these do i eat , have a dislike for all.....

there are a lot more nasty things green than RED
oh the green bush it nice to give me those grand red berries, the green can eat the green leaf, but give me the ripe berries.
 
Dear Count, where would all these fruits and veggies that you so ardently wave at us be, without the green plants that gave birth to them? The only red thing that I can think of that grows without a green parent plant is a type of mushroom, and believe me, you don't want to eat that (extremely toxic!) Cucumbers are delicious when green, they don't turn red, but I certainly wouldn't want to eat one that had turned yellow! Fire is red - you can't eat that. In some places, dirt is red; you can't eat that. Many kinds of flowers are red; though pretty to look at, you can't eat them, either. And sadly, when leaves turn red, they are dying, and the plant must throw them away to survive until warmer weather returns and the time comes for it to be clothed in green again.

Lot of things that are the grand RED color, don't have to eat it to enjoy it. oh that warm red fire on a real cold winter night.....
