There are worse than me out there? The Princess says I am incorrigible - that's bad, I bet.

Princess is not very organized. I'm not supposed to point that out, but periodically I have to tell her, "If you 'worked' for me, all of your evaluations would indicate that you are poorly organized." She takes offense at that, but guess who had to go to the grocery store two days before Christmas. She had to get almond extract for the butter cookies and raisins for Grandma Wallace's (as in MY grandmother

) lemon/raisin cooky recipe. I rest my case!

The Princess mixed green, yellow, and red food coloring into some of the butter cooky dough (Why? Who could know?) We ended up with cookies, wreaths thankfully, exactly this color. I'm married to a strange woman. Thankfully I am so 'normal'.

Oh, now that took me back a few years. My mother has one of those cookie presses that is like a caulking gun - pull the trigger, and it pushes a measured amount of dough through a patterned die to make a certain shape. That thing got a workout at Christmastime (we went through a lot of food coloring, too). Some colors work better than others, though - yellow worked ok, but green cookies never did look right after they were cooked.

That is exactly the press that I was using. It's like an antique. I cracked the lower fitting that holds the die in place several years ago - wrapped a piece of wire around it and continued to make cookies. Princess has purchased several other presses, but none work as well as that old wired together jobby.

This seemed to work for that chicken but I couldent even get my chicken to Kay on the ground

Back from spending the day with my family. Guess what came back with me? My mother's cookie press! She hasn't used it in ages, and when I asked (just out of curiosity) if she still had it, she said, "Yes, would you like it?" DD is looking forward to making cookies with it; I guess I know what we'll be doing tomorrow . . . .
