Green Club

I was a good bit less amused, having heard the joke before (though it wasn't set to music that time). But long before that, I'd had a friend with a (little) brother who'd tied on a ribbon and declared himself a Christmas present . . . .

Monday we got 5 " of snow - today the bees are ravaging the hyacinths in my planter boxes and I just saw a mourning cloak butterfly out by my kennels.

I prefer today.

Soon all will be GREEN.

One thing about living here in WV, our grass stays green all year long. No idea what kind of grass it is, but it's green!!!! We can tell it's spring by how tall the grass grows overnight. The trees are starting to bud out now (finally!!!) and we even had some little blue wildflowers blooming in the field....thankfully I saw them just before the 4 footed galoot ran over them. I swear that dog is a miniature horse!

In the Kingdom, we can tell spring is coming by the amount of sparkles being flung about.....

The grass around here mostly goes brown during the winter, but there are a number of winter annual weeds that can keep things green underfoot. It seems kind of funny, but I'm getting excited about white - the Yoshino Cherry just outside the window to my left is coming into bloom. When it is in full "poof," it is breathtaking!
