Ranchhand that is a perfect discription! In fact we still have a *70's* kitchen for the most part (replaced appliances to white) but the old stove hood thing is still in place and by goly it is a perfect match!

Biddieacres - she is 28 weeks old. Exactly - today. We added light to our coop though for a couple of hours a day about three weeks ago. The egg laying thing must have been contagious. My millies started in last week and then a couple of my frizzle cochins started laying two days ago. They are only 20 weeks old. Now I see my 19 week old cuckoo marans has started squating.

Next!

Funny you say that egg-laying is contagious. Our young BO laid her first egg about ten days ago, and the very next day our young EE, who was displaying no signs that she was ready to lay, popped a tiny one out herself. She's laying a light green - almost mint, I would say - nothing nearly as gorgeous as yours. Congratulations!

And two of my three EEs lay cream colored or brown. Third isn't old enough yet.... I still have hope for some color.
