I'm unable to find an answer on the web about this. I know that green eyes are not common as I have kept chicken over the years and only had orange(ish) or black (Black Naked Necks). I've also seen blue.

BUT.....I have an adult Red Pyle (Splash) Brahma who has pale green eyes.....came from and eBay egg, and all his offspring have green eyes to a greater or lesser extent. His son (a Blue Partridge Brahma) has fairly impressive green eyes and I have hatched Naked Neck X Blue Partridge Brahma 6 weeks ago. Their eyes started off slate grey colour, but now are turning green.

So....it looks like the trait is very dominant in my little flock, but anyone know anything about green eyes?

Thank you.

Poor pics. which don't do they eyes justice, nor do they look as green as they do in life, but they started with the big fellow (who incidentally seems to have almost orange comb and wattles, too) in the first picture

The eye colour of the chick with his face pointing downwards is nearest to tru. Grandaddy has MUCH greener eyes in life.........weird looking.

Ive had some easter egger mutt chicks with green eyes, but as they matured there eyes changed color too, and lost the cool green color! Its cool yous still have it as adults! maybe you should do something with it....
are there any breed whose standard call for green eyes??

I could call them the "Green Eyed Monsters" especially the NN X Brahma which have a 'singular' appearance....really weird now they have grey feathers and green eyes with feathery black legs.

Maybe I'd better start my own strain! looks like this green eyed thing is a dominant mutation.

I don't know genetics, at all.

All I can tell you is that 6 of my brahmas have the green eyes. I think it makes them even more beautiful.
